Meet the Upstatesmiles Cosmetic Dentistry Team
Dr. Bruce
 Dr. William “Bo” Bruce received his D.M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1998. Subsequently, he completed a one year residency training in St. Petersburg, Florida where he studied with The Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies. After completing his training, Dr. Bruce opened a private practice in Simpsonville in Simpsonville, South Carolina. His practice is geared towards solving complex restorative and aesthetic problems. He was encouraged by Dr. Dawson to practice in a way that would not compromise excellence, thereby rendering success. Recently, Excellence in Dentistry honored Dr. Bruce as the recipient of the Woody Oakes Award. From all the applicants, this award gave Dr. Bruce the title of The Most Outstanding Young Dentist in North America. Dr. Bruce is a nationally recognized speaker on esthetics with predictability. He has been a featured lecturer for The Chicago Mid Winter, American Equilibration Society, American Dental Association, and AACD just to name a few.
He has authored and published numerous articles and is a consultant for several dental manufacturers. Dr. Bruce is also one of the distinguished teaching faculty members of The Dawson Center as well as founder of Upstate Smiles Seminars.
Dr. Bruce and his wife Lisa have 3 children, Preston (9); Zachary (7); Megan (5). His favorite hobbies are teaching Sunday school and camping with the family.

 Andrea
Andrea is one of our dental hygienists and she works Monday through Wednesday. She been with our office for 8 months but she brings with her plenty of experience. She has been a hygienist for ten years and has worked in a variety of office settings. Andrea’s calming personality and ability to relate to patients’ dental needs and concerns has led to a very high level of rapport. She has two children Kameron (8) and Kyleigh (7) who are very active in sports. Andrea likes hiking, skiing, anything outdoors and spending time with her family.
Janet
 Janet is Dr. Bruce’s dental assistant. With more than five years of experience as a dental assistant, she is able to perform numerous tasks ranging from the most basic to the highly complex. Her ability to carefully assess patient’s needs can make even the most tedious procedures relaxing and her attention to detail only reiterates Dr. Bruce’s desire for perfection. Janet and her husband, Chad, have two children, Lyndi (4) and Cotes (18 months). They enjoy cheering on the Clemson Tigers as well as playing outside and taking trips to the beach.
Robin
 Robin, one of our dental hygienists, has been a part of this practice for seven years. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. With more than 18 years of experience, she is adept at treating periodontal disease, offering preventative care, and encouraging our clientele to practice habits that improve whole body health.
Sara
 Sara is our office manager and is a wonderful source of information. Thanks to her experience in treatment planning, she is able to answer your questions regarding procedures, scheduling and insurance benefits. You will find that her bright smile and bubbly personality are always a comforting site in the office. Sara enjoys playing golf and exercising with her dog.
